Effect of time of the day on walking performance
in persons with Multiple Sclerosis & differential value of walking
capacity tests
A Multi-center study has been initiated
within the SIG “Mobility” entitled. In this study, RIMS members will
collaborate to study the impact of time of the day on self-perceived
fatigue and walking performance in persons with Multiple Sclerosis (EDSS
1.0-6,5). Besides, the relation between performance on short and longer
(2MWT and 6MWT) walking capacity tests will be investigated. This study
will be carried out in at least 15 different MS centers during spring
and summer 2009.
The principal investigator is Peter Feys (REVAL Institute, Hasselt University/PHL, Belgium) who is currently chairman of the SIG Mobility. Members of the core work group preparing this study included Benoit Gebara (BE), Vincent De Groot (Nl), Claude Vaney (CH) and Anders Romberg (FI) as well as Domien Gijbels en Geert Alders (BE).
